Finney

elevated to

of Schools

after serving a three-year term
as vice-president. Finney also is
associate dean for academic affairs
and director of graduate studies
at theUniversity of Cincinnati’s
Conservatory ofMusic, a post
he has held since2010. Prior to
that, he served for nearly 25 years
as headof theDivision of Opera,
MusicalTheatre, Drama, andArts
Administration andTheatreDesign
andProduction at UC. Finney has
taught at BSC and at theSchool for
theCreative andPerformingArts in
Cincinnati. Heearned anMFA in
directing fromBostonUniversity.

is the
new senior director for public
policy atWellCareHealthPlans in
Tampa, Fla. According toSteckel,
she and her husband, Arthur, “are

is now head
of school at LindenHall, the
country’s oldest boarding and
college preparatory school for
girls, located in Lititz, Penn. White
travels a lot domestically and
internationally for the international
boarding school, but is still able
to teach an occasional physics or
astronomy course. “I look back
tomy experiences at ’Southern
as critical ones that helpedme
lay a foundation forwhat has
come aftermy four years there,”
he said. White receivedBSC’s
OutstandingYoungAlumni Award
in 2004. He and hiswife, Lisa, are
the parents of two boys: Sebastian
andAlistair.
A 60th anniversary affair
Dr. LarryBrasher

DensonN. FranklinProfessor of Religion at BSC, returned to
YaleUniversity for the 60th anniversary concert of the alumni
of theYaleRussianChorus. He joined the historicYale chorus in
1971 as a baritone soloistwhilehewasworking onhisMaster
of Divinity degree. At the60th reuniononNov. 10, 140 alumni
gathered to perform inWoolseyHall, thepremier concert venue
atYale. Brasher’s son, Daniel, who sang in several university
choral groups, was invited to join them. Before the concert,
Brashermet upwith three former students for dinner—now all
graduate students atYale:
