religious intolerance, hate groupbigotry, and interpretive
Biblical literalnesswithpresentations that compel the viewer
to challenge the assumedneutralityof cultural institutions.
“TheHateProject,” exhibited this past Sepember, received
national attention. Hisworkwas recently included at Truman
StateUniversity andwill be exhibited at AlleghenyCollege in
Meadville, Pa., in Januarybefore traveling toother galleries in
theU.S.

Neel is aprintmaker, sculptor, and freelancephotojournalist
whosework focuses on socio-political issues. His installation
“Babel” is part of thepermanent collectionof the JohnMichael
Kohler ArtsCenter in Sheboygan,Wis. Itwill be featured in
the center’s “Arts/Industry: Collaboration andRevelation”
series throughAug. 31. Neelwas awarded a residency in2008.

addresses the effects of
mediaon social communication andour perceptionof reality.
According tohim, theprocess of interpreting communication
and theworld throughmedia stems from the ritualized
interaction societyhaswith themedia includingnews,
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, andPinterest. His printmaking
workhas been exhibited in regional andnational exhibitions
that includeparticipation in the traveling exhibitionof
miniature artist’s books to17 states and six foreign countries.
