Railroad Park, an eight-block green space
celebrating the city’s industrial heritage,
has been a prime catalyst for development
downtown, spurring a boom in restaurants
and apartments around 1st Avenue South.
“Birmingham-Southern is an anchor on the
western side of the city and has been an
integral part of Birmingham for decades.
The college has produced thousands of
graduates who have made a positive impact
on society, many of whom have done so
right here in Birmingham. BSC graduates
serve in important roles throughout the
city and region as teachers, chefs, doctors,
parents, CEOs, artists, attorneys, musicians,
nonprofit leaders, and more.”
