Birmingham-Southern campus. In this photo,
SarahWicker
Haughton ’71
sits reflectively on a starting block at the swimming
pool inside the old gymnasium during a women’s intramural swim
meet. Her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, won the swim meet that
year. Haughton was a health, physical education, and recreation
major and biology minor at BSC. During her senior year, she
served as sports editor of the student yearbook Southern
Accent as well as a varsity cheerleader. In 1998, the Southern
