BSC launches new "Rise to Your Potential" campaign

For Immediate Release
Feb. 20, 2017

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Birmingham-Southern College kicked off a new advertising campaign titled “Rise to Your Potential.” The campaign highlights the ways in which BSC propels its students to post-graduate success through its innovative academic programs, hands-on learning, and supportive campus environment.

“There is so much discussion these days about why college matters and what students should expect from their education, and yet we find so many parents and students just don’t know that a small liberal arts college like BSC is the best preparation for success,” said President Linda Flaherty-Goldsmith. “We know that, to put it simply, BSC changes lives. This is one part of our ongoing efforts to let others in our state, our region, and our nation in on the secret.”

The campaign, which is led by the Birmingham-based agency Intermark Group, features print and digital images and radio spots focused on the theme of limitless possibilities. Viewers and listeners are led on a tour of the college’s Birmingham campus, in which classroom, laboratory, and auditorium doors and windows open to reveal BSC graduates achieving great feats.

“We hear almost daily about our alumni achieving success not just in the typical fields we’re historically known for--such as business, law, the health professions, education, and the ministry--but also in breakout fields like entrepreneurship, high-tech innovation, the arts, and so much more,” said Flaherty-Goldsmith. “The BSC educational experience is designed to give every student the tools they’ll need, whatever their field.”

The campaign was to include full-page advertisements in the Sunday, Feb. 26 editions of the Birmingham News, Huntsville Times, Montgomery Advertiser, and Mobile Press Register. The “Rise to Your Potential” ads will also appear in airports in Birmingham, Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, and Houston; on billboards in many Alabama cities; and in digital advertisements nationwide. A 30-second spot will also run on radio stations across the state.
