How to apply

Students wishing to join the Donald C. Harrison Honors Program must apply separately to Birmingham-Southern College and to the program. Approximately 25 students are admitted to the program each year.

  1. To apply to BSC, visit our Admission site here. Remember to indicate interest in the Harrison Honors Program on your application.

  2. To apply for the Harrison Honors Program, you must submit:

    • A completed Honors application form (download it here).
    • A short essay
    • Two letters of recommendation (download the recommendation form here).

When to apply:

Apply by December 1, and we’ll let you know whether you’ll be invited into the program by the end of January.

Apply by April 30 for priority consideration to begin the program in the fall of your first year at BSC.

A few additional first-year students are accepted into the program in the fall of their first year.
