Brief Career Background:

Dr. Mills is excited to join the BSC faculty beginning in Fall 2014. She recently received her Ph.D. in Sociology with a concentration in Health and Illness from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining the BSC faculty, she worked on an NSF grant at the Carsey Institute conducting longitudinal research among youth in northern rural New Hampshire.

SO 101 Introduction to Sociology
The study of human society: the processes of social interaction and organization. Emphasis is placed on learning the basic concepts, principles, and theoretical perspectives of sociology. Prerequisite: MA 115, placement, or consent. Fall, Spring, Summer.SO 102 Contemporary Social Problems (1)

SO293 Health and Society
An introduction to society and health and how they interact with an emphasis on the contributions of sociology in understanding the unequal social distribution of health outcomes. Designed to meet the new 2015 MCAT sociology requirements for Pre-Health students.

SO370 Sociology of Medicine
Investigations of the organization and distribution of health care, and the influence of social factors of health. A Leadership Studies designated course.
